Hi everyone! Wow - September lst! Where did the summer go? Here in Orange County, California, we are still having summer, and actually, summer lasts all year here. September and October are some of the best months to have a beach wedding in Southern California. Beginning in October, the sun starts to set in the southern ocean! We are "southern" California, we face South, so in the summer months of June, July and August, since the sun sets in the west, we do not get the sunsets in the ocean in Laguna Beach. However, in October, we start to get the beautiful sunsets in the ocean, the beaches are not crowded, and you can have your perfect on-the-sand beach wedding! I read other beach wedding blogs that say you can't wear a traditional wedding dress for your beach wedding. Rubbish! I've had brides wear gorgeous satin traditional wedding dresses with long cathedral length trains at their beach wedding. Remember, sand is not dirty. Sand is soft and clean, even if it is wet, it does not hurt your dress. Walk down the beach with your beautiful train following behind, your wedding headdress blowing in the wind, and look gorgeous!
